Answers to common questions, and a direct line to the two people who build Aethr.
Download Aethr on your iPhone. If you have an Apple Watch, the watch app installs alongside it.
On first launch, allow Aethr to read your workouts, heart rate and sleep. Aethr needs this to compute anything.
Aethr analyses your workout history on the device. With years of workouts this can take a few minutes.
In Records, add your max heart rate, threshold heart rate, FTP or threshold pace for more accurate load and zones.
Open the iPhone Settings app, go to Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Aethr, and make sure workouts, heart rate and routes are allowed. Then open Aethr and tap Settings, then Sync now. Workouts recorded by other apps appear only after those apps have saved them to Apple Health.
Many watch brands send only a summary to Apple Health, without the GPS route, power or running dynamics. Export the original FIT file from the brand's app and open it in Aethr, or tap Settings, then Import workout files. Aethr saves the full workout to Apple Health and hides the summary-only duplicate.
Check your profile and thresholds in Records and Settings, then run Settings, then Rebuild analytics. Aethr recomputes everything from Apple Health. Your raw health data is never changed.
For rides without a power meter, Aethr can estimate power from speed, gradient and the total weight of you and your bike. Turn it on in Settings, then Cycling power. Rides need a GPS route, and a real power meter always takes priority.
Open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps and tap Install next to Aethr. Watch workouts are saved to Apple Health and appear in Aethr on the iPhone after the next sync.
Units are in Settings, then Units: automatic by region, metric or imperial. To change the language, tap Language in Aethr's Settings; it opens iOS Settings for Aethr.
Weather is added for outdoor workouts with a GPS route and needs a network connection at sync time. You can also turn weather off in Settings.

Aethr Pro (€11.99 once) unlocks the layer that reads across weeks: Trends, the monthly summary, advanced records, readiness guidance, unlimited gear and file import.
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Aethr works offline except for weather and maps.
Your workouts stay in Apple Health. Aethr stores only the analytics it computes, on your iPhone. Delete the app and they are gone. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Shape what we build next
Aethr is made by a two-person team in Bratislava. Feature requests go straight to the people writing the code, and plenty of what is in the app today started as one.
